Dear Fellow Tennesseans,
Serving the people of the 56th Legislative District is an unparalleled honor. Comprised of a wonderful portion of Davidson County , the 56th District stretches from Bellevue, through Green Hills to the Cane Ridge, Antioch communities. I consider it the best!
First a report on the STATE BUDGET - Having played an integral role in the budget process, I am more than pleased that we:
Passed a no-tax, balanced budget and cut over $$650 million in wasteful spending. This was one of the most fiscally conservative, responsible budgets in our State’s history.
As Chair of the Commerce Committee, I am keenly aware of the positive impact this budget will have on our citizens. Getting Tennesseans back to work- Many of our fellow Tennesseans are unemployed or struggling financially. Recognizing that small business is the backbone of our economy, I have worked closely with employers and the business community in areas that will enable them to grow their businesses and provide jobs for Tennesseecitizens; and to that end, my efforts in support of small businesses were acknowledged by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) when they awarded me the coveted Guardian of Small Business Award.
Please, visit the issues section to learn more about legislation I have sponsored and supported. Challenges and problems to be addressed by the Tennessee Legislature remain. It would be my honor to continue representing District 56 as we work together solving problems and looking to Tennessee’s future.
I ask for your support and vote.
As always, thank you for your input, your ideas and your trust.
Beth
